Instructions¶
Q: What is needed to apply these encodings?
A: A car, a VAG-COM cord, the VCDS program (aka Vasya Diagnostic), working brains and straight hands (or a friend with all this).
Q: How to work with the cord/program and other basics
A: You can read about the basics of working with VAG-COM and VCDS, about enabling hidden bits and where logs of changes made are stored in the community on Drive2 (link at the very end).
Q: Are the encodings described here suitable for other VAG vehicles?
A: Possibly. The units used on VAG family cars are often the same, but the physically installed equipment may differ.
You can try at your own peril and risk. The closest cars are on the PQ35 and PQ46 platforms.
Q: Why are not all encodings for Octavia A5FL listed here?
A: There are exactly two options:
1 – some encoding was unknown at the time the file was created (please tell us about it);
2 – only encodings that do not require the installation of additional equipment are indicated here. As a rule, the installation instructions for additional equipment contain coding for its connection and configuration.
Q: On the Internet these encodings have a different name, why?
A: Because the names in the original sources were often given in a hurry in the joy of discovery. Here I tried to call things (encodings, systems, functions) by their correct names. If something is wrong, we are all human, correct it.
Q: I have an English version of the program and it’s not clear which block to go to or which item to select.
A: A translator will help you. In general, each block and item has numbers that remain the same in different versions of the program.
Q: Can I use this file for commercial purposes?
A: Everyone has their own karma, everyone decides for themselves. All information contained in this file was obtained free of charge and this file is also distributed free of charge. However, selling this file is strictly prohibited!

Everything you do, you do at your own peril and risk! If tampering with electronics is detected, ODs have the right to refuse warranty repairs to the vehicle’s electrical equipment.
All indirect diagnostics are indirect, giving approximate guidelines for troubleshooting and does not provide a 100% guarantee or result.
